Ann Curry
Ann Curry is a photojournalist as well as a journalist, author and has been covering conflict zones over the last 45 years. Her work focuses on the human suffering of disasters and human tragedy. Curry covered wars in Kosovo, Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry, (born November 19th, 1956 in Agana American journalist and TV anchor and news reporter. She was best known for her work as a reporter on the Today show, a news morning program aired on the National Broadcasting Co. (NBC). Curry was noted especially for her reporting on the humanitarian crisis in war-ravaged countries as well as on natural disasters. Curry was the child of a U.S. Navy sailor and the daughter of a Japanese woman. Her mother was living alongside the father of her parents in Japan in the aftermath of World War II. The family was frequently in and out of the country due to her dad's military service. Curry finished highschool in Ashland Oregon. In 1978 she graduated from the University of Oregon with a bachelor's degree in journalism. The exposure she received to a variety of cultures and experiences throughout her childhood is likely to have influenced the compassion with which she approaches global issues. Ashland, Oregon is the place where Curry graduated. In the role of an intern at KTVL Channel 10 Medford, Oregan, she began her journey in broadcasting. She became the first female journalist for the station at was 22. Following that, she went into the role of anchor and reporter at KGW KGW, which was the NBC affiliate station located in Portland. Four years later she moved into Los Angeles and became a reporter for KCBS TV. There were two Emmy Awards were won during her time with the KCBS-TV.
